Firefighter Challenge Event Rules
1. Each participant must be an active member of a fire department, paid or volunteer.
2 Each participant must sign an injury waiver form.
3. Each participant must supply and use complete turnout gear in compliance with NFPA 1500, to include SCBA.
4. The event will begin with the blast of an air horn.
5. You will be told when you have completed each evolution; you may proceed to the next evolution at your own pace.
6. Each participant will perform all evolutions in the same sequence.
7. Participants will not be permitted to obtain physical assistance to complete evolutions.
8. Team competitions will consist of three members from the same department; based on cumlulative individual times.
9. Multiple steps may be taken while ascending tower, but each step must be touched on the descent.
10. All ties will be handled by a run-off event.
11. Trophies will be awarded to the best three times in indivual and team competition; A trophy will also be awarded for the best times in Over-40 and female categories.
