Emergency service workers across the nation offer a variety of reasons as to why they risk their own safety, often their lives and make unselfish sacrifices to come to the aid of strangers and friends alike. But one reason echos in the bays of firestations from coast to coast. "I want to help". This sums up a firefighters heart and his or her desire to serve the community.

The service provided by fire departments, ambulance services, and police departments should not go unrecognized. More importantly, the memory of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice must live on; in our hearts, in our lives, and on these pages.
